A Declaration can be<br \/>\nmade by either the husband or the wife, or both, which depends on the requirements of the relevant departments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: black !important;\">For the declarant whom the marital status is single, a \u201cCertificate of Absence of Marriage Record\u201d (i.e. Prove that he\/she is single) is compulsory, to be obtained from the Marriage Registration and Records Office in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: black !important;\">For the declarant who\u2019s marital status is divorced, Marriage Certificate and Divorce Certificate of former marriage, and the \u201cCertificate of Absence of Marriage Record\u201d have to be provided.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: black !important;\">For the declarant whom the marital status is widower\/widow, Marriage Certificate of former marriage and the<br \/>\nDeath Certificate of the late spouse are necessary. Also, the \u201cCertificate of Absence of Marriage Record\u201d is necessary as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: black !important;\">\n      Documents you will need to provide:<br \/>\n      1. Hong Kong Identity Card and China Entry Permit;<br \/>\n      2. Spouse\u2019s Hong Kong Identity Card;<br \/>\n      3. Marriage Certificate;<br \/>\n      4. If you had married in Hong Kong before, the Marriage Registration and Records Office will not issue theaforesaid certificate to you and a \u201cLetter of marriage record\u201d will be issued instead.<\/p>\n<p>Please come to our solicitors\u2019 firm to make a Declaration of Marriage Application together with your \u201cCertificate of Absence of Marriage Record\u201d or the \u201cLetter of marriage record\u201d.
